Low Effort Mushroom Growing

Using a Plant & Grow block is the easiest way to get mushrooms. Although the mushrooms may take longer to grow than a grow kit for indoors, all you need to do is plant the kit and let nature do the rest of the work. You can plant these blocks in gardens, raised beds or pots.

  • 1. Location

When planting your mushroom block you want to look for a place that will have shade with minimal direct sunlight. This can be under other plants like tomatoes, cucumbers etc. the shade from the plants will help keep temperatures lower and increase humidity.

  • 2. Bury Block

Once you have your location, dig a hole so the block can sit 1 inch below the surface. Remove the block from the bag and bury it in the hole with soil or mulch. Heavily water the area once done.

  • 3. Let Nature Work

Due to the variability of outdoor weather it may take longer for mushrooms to grow. They will only fruit when the climate supports their growth. (typically cool & wet). We recommend watering regularly during a dry season.
